Uganda Gorilla, Nyiragongo & Gorilla Trek in Congo

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park featuring a minimum of 400 mountain gorillas presents a remarkable opportunity to explore these critically endangered Apes. The trekking encounter commences at 8am at the respective gorilla trekking region with briefing conducted by the Uganda Wildlife Authority park rangers.

This is followed by the trek to the forested hilly landscapes of Bwindi dubbed Impenetrable with beautiful forest cover always covered by mist in the morning, scenic slopes, abundant bird life and eventually the mountain gorillas.

The viewing of these gentle giants is limited to one hour but the entire return trek can last between 2 – 8 hours.  After the trek, transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park driving along the scenic landscapes of Kigezi Highlands before being welcomed by the towering Virunga Volcanoes ahead. Retire for relaxation, dinner and overnight

These massive primates are extremely rare, with less than 700 living today. You will get within meters of the family, and be privileged to spend an hour amongst them. Return to your Hotel/Lodge for overnight.

The Virunga national park is home to over 200 mountain gorillas, which are living within mostly the southern part of the park. The Virunga Conservation park is managed and protected by the Congo National Park Authorities and the ICCN – Institut Congolais pour la Conservation de la Nature a partner with the Africa Conservation Fund who are promoting conservation and protecting mountain gorilla population there, and the gorilla population is more stable and recovering progressively after the political instabilities in Congo with high chances of seeing the gorillas with ease.

After an early breakfast on the next day; today is real adventure where you spend a day hiking the live volcano Nyiragongo. The trek includes a walk through lush forest and lava fields with a steep incline near the top, and includes an overnight stay in the Nyiragongo Crater Cabanas on the volcano rim. The stunning views both day and night make this an unforgettable experience.

Later stay for overnight in tents at the rim of the giant crater high above the active lava lake. Ready Food and Water are included in the rates. Things to bring for Nyiragongo Hiking – Sleeping Bag, Change of dry clothes, Rain gear, Good walking shoes, Warm Clothes (sweater, jacket) it is cold up the rim. Sun cream, warm Hat, Torch, Camera and any other personal toiletries
